Customer accuses General Motors of breach of warranty

FRESNO — A Fresno woman is suing General Motors, alleging breach of implied warranty and breach of warranty.

Carla Walter filed a complaint Feb. 14 in Fresno County Superior Court against General Motors LLC, Michael Cadillac Inc., doing business as Michael Automotive Group and Does 1 through 20, alleging they manufactured and sold a defective vehicle to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, Walter suffered damages from purchasing 2010 Chevrolet Impala for more than $25,000 that was found defective. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to fix the defects found on the Impala, including engine malfunctions, checking engine light illuminations, pedal sensor replacement and other defects.

Walter seeks trial by jury, replacement or restitution, incidental damages, consequential damages, civil penalty, actual damages, all legal fees, interest and all other relief the deems just. She is represented by attorneys Christopher M. Lovasz and Vanessa M. Lee of Consumer Legal Services PC in Long Beach.
