Inyo County employees allege violation of compensation laws

SACRAMENTO — Two county employees have filed a class action lawsuit against Inyo County, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Amanda Wagner and Heather Lind, filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all similarly situated individuals, July 20 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the county of Inyo, alleging failure to to pay fair wages to the plaintiffs.

According to the complaint, Wagner and Lind, who began working for the county in 2014, worked more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiffs allege the county failed to pay overtime wages to the plaintiffs at the applicable rate as required by Fair Labor Standards Act.

Wagner and Lind seek unpaid overtime wages, interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys David E. Mastagni, Isaac S. Stevens, Ace T. Tate and Ian B. Sangster of Mastagni Holstedt APC in Sacramento.
