SAN FRANCISCO — A California woman is suing Amazon.com, alleging violation of federal and state law.

Kim Embry filed a complaint April 21 in San Francisco County Superior Court against Amazon.com Inc. and Does 1 through 100, alleging they sell PVC hoses that contain harmful materials.

According to the complaint, Embry suffered damages from purchasing a product that had DEHP, which can cause health hazards. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to warn Embry that the hose she purchased could cause health hazards from being exposed to DEHP.

Embry seeks civil penalties of $2,500 per day, injunction against the defendant, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Noam Glick and Kelsey D. McCarthy of Glick Law Group, P.C. in San Diego.
