Fabrics business accuses garment vendors of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles fabrics business is suing garment vendors, alleging copyright infringement.

Star Fabrics Inc. filed a complaint Aug. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Masoi Jeans Inc., Top Fashion, Touch Me Fashion Inc., Fashion Q, Inc., Rhapsodielle, Inc. and Does 1 through 10, alleging they illegally copied and reproduced the plaintiff's fabric designs.

According to the complaint, Star Fabrics suffered damages to its business from having its fabric design copied without consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants sell garments made out of fabrics that bear the plaintiff's designs.

Star Fabrics seek trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, all profits, statutory damages, legal fees, interest and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Stephen M. Doniger and Howard S. Han of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice, Califorina.
