Los Angeles fabric business accuses garment vendors of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles fabric business is suing garment vendors, alleging copyright infringement.

Star Fabric Inc. filed a complaint Aug. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against G Stage Love.com Inc., Papermoon Inc., doing business as B_Envied, LA Moda XVII Inc., Melissa Bleu, Modish.E, Time Less Inc., doing business as Libian, Fashion Boomy, 2 Hearts Inc., Two Trees & Fish, and Does 1 through 10, alleging they illegally copied and reproduced the plaintiff's fabric designs.

According to the complaint, Star Fabric suffered damages to its business as the result of its fabric designs being copied without its consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants illegally sell garments made out of fabrics that bear the plaintiff's designs.

Star Fabric seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, legal fees, interest and all other relief the court deems just. It represented by attorneys Stephen M. Doniger and Howard S. Han of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice, California.
