L.A. fabrics company accuses garment vendors of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles fabrics company is suing garment vendors, alleging copyright infringement.

Star Fabrics Inc. filed a complaint Aug. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Myth Clothing Company Inc., Burlington Stores Inc. and Does 1 through 10, alleging they illegally copied and reproduced the plaintiff's fabric designs.

According to the complaint, Star Fabrics suffered damages to its business as the result of its fabric designs being illegally copied without its consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants are selling garments made out of fabrics that bear the plaintiff's design.

Star Fabrics seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, legal fees, interest and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Stephen M. Doniger and Howard S. Han of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice, California.
