SAN FRANCISCO — A California woman has filed a class action lawsuit against a market research business, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Iram Bakhtiar filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Aug. 9 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Information Resources Inc., and Does 1 through 50, alleging they failed to pay fair wages to the plaintiff, violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Bakhtiar, who worked for Information Resources from June 2011 until September, 2016, worked more than 40 hours a week without being paid any overtime wages in violation of FLSA.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate meal and rest breaks to Bakhtiar during her employment in client services.

Bakhtiar seeks unpaid overtime wages, unpaid wages, liquidated damages, penalties, restitution, enjoin the defendant, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Bryan Schwartz and Logan Starr of Bryan Schwartz Law in Oakland.
