SAN FRANCISCO — A Contra Costa County man has filed a class action lawsuit against a marketing company, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.
Sid Naiman filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Aug. 19 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Zoek Inc., also known as Gozoek.com; and Does 1 through 10, alleging they illegally called him several times in an attempt to offer their services, violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, in June 2017, Naiman suffered damages from receiving several unwanted calls on his cellular telephone. The plaintiff alleges the defendants kept calling him on his cell phone despite his requests to stop. The suit says these unwanted calls caused him to be charged for incoming calls.
Naiman seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Todd M. Friedman of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills, California.
