L.A. County fabrics business accuses competitors of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County fabrics business is suing competitors, alleging copyright infringement.

Standard Fabrics International Inc. filed a complaint Aug. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Dese Enterprises Inc., individually and doing business as "AMICLUBWEAR," Dresshead.com, Inc., Clothingcollectionz.com, and Does 1 through 10, alleging they illegally copied and reproduced the plaintiff's two dimensional design.

According to the complaint, Standard Fabrics suffered damages from having its fabric design copied without consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants illegally sell garments that feature the plaintiff's two dimensional design.

Standard Fabrics seeks trial by jury, $150,000 per infringement, enjoin the defendants, all profits, monetary advantages, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest and all other relief. It is represented by attorneys Scott A. Burroughs and Trevot W. Barrett of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice, California.
