LOS ANGELES — A California man is suing competitors, alleging copyright infringement.

Jeffrey R. Werner filed a complaint Aug. 21 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Penske Media Corporation, Hollywoodlife.com, LLC, individually and doing business as "Hollybaby.com," and Does 1-10, alleging they illegally used the plaintiff's copyrighted photograph without his consent.

According to the complaint, Werner suffered damages from having his photograph used without his consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants misappropriated his "Wolf Girl" photograph and used it on their website.

Werner seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, profits, statutory damages, legal fees, interest, enhanced damages and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Scott Alan Burroughs and Trevor W. Barrett of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice, California.
