LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County man is suing his employers, alleging retaliation, unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law, violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act and violation of workers compensation acts.

Ghebremeskel Kahsay filed a complaint Aug. 21 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Destination Shuttle Service, Barrett Business Services Inc., and Does 1-20, alleging they failed to pay fair wages to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, Kahsay, a shuttle driver for his employers, suffered damages from being terminated from employment for seeking medical attention for injuries to his back and knees. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay overtime and minimum wages for his work and discriminated against him by terminating his employment in 2015 for seeking medical attention due to his health condition.

Kahsay seeks trial by jury, compensatory, special and general damages, lost income and benefits, reliance damages, punitive or exemplary damages, unpaid wages, overtime, unpaid compensatory pay, injunctive relief, restitution, interest, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Benjamin Davidson of Law Offices of Benjamin Davidson PC in Beverly Hills.
