California textile converter accuses New York competitors of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles textile converter is suing New York competitors, alleging copyright infringement.

Neman Brothers & Associates Inc. filed a complaint Aug. 29 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against One Step Up Ltd, Harry Adjmi, Morris Tbiele, Ross Stores Inc., doing business as DD's Discounts, Factory Connection LLC and Does 1-10, alleging they illegally copied and reproduced plaintiff's fabric designs.

According to the complaint, Neman Brothers suffered damages to its business as the result of its patented designs being copied without consent. 

The plaintiff alleges the the defendants illegally sell garments made out of fabrics that bear Neman's designs.

Neman Brothers seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, interest, special and general damages, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys C. Yong Jeong, John R. Baldivia and Scott Satkin of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
