Santa Monica photographer accuses competitor of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES — A Santa Monica photographer is suing a competitor, alleging copyright infringement.

Michael Grecco Productions, Inc., doing business as Michael Grecco Photography, filed a complaint Aug. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Paste Media Group LLC, doing business as "pastemagazine.com" and Does 1-10, alleging they used the plaintiff's copyrighted work without his consent.

According to the complaint, Michael Grecco Photography suffered damages from having its copyrighted photograph of Julia Child used without its consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants illegally copied and displayed plaintiff's photograph of Child on their website.

Michael Greco Photography seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, all profits, monetary advantages, legal fees, statutory damages, interest and all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys Stephen M. Doniger, Scott Alan Burroughs and David Shein of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice, California.
