LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles fabric company is suing garment vendors, alleging copyright infringement.

Joanne Fabric Inc. filed a complaint Sept. 18, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Marigold Fashion Inc., doing business as Best N Best, Fashion Angeles Inc., Lemon Tree Inc., Paperdoll Wholesale, Brad & Zoe Inc., doing business as Pinkblush Maternity; Jin Hee Kang Lee, doing business as Trendy Stle, The Dress Barn Inc., Shoptiques, Inc., and Does 1-10, alleging they illegally copied and reproduced the plaintiff's textile designs without permission.

According to the complaint, Joanne Fabric suffered damages from having its fabric designs copied without consent by the defendants. The plaintiff alleges the defendants illegally sell garments through retail stores made out of fabric that bear plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, legal fees, interest and any other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney C. Yong Jeong of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
