FRESNO — The surviving daughters of their deceased father are suing a law firm, alleging professional negligence.

Pamela Jones and Jill Jones filed a complaint Aug. 29 in Fresno County Superior Court against Judith A. Wright; and Robert S. Wright of Wright & Wright Attorneys at Law Inc. and Does 1-25, inclusive, alleging the defendants failed their duty to exercise reasonable care and skill in undertaking legal services.

According to the complaint, in 2005, the plaintiffs' father, Jerry Jones along with his then wife, Jorja Jones, retained Wright & Wright to act as their attorneys to perform services related to estate planning. The suit says the daughters have also retained the defendants as legal advisers after their father passed away

The plaintiffs say on at least one occasion, Wright & Wright was not able to produce specific assets that were supposed to be in their father's trust. The lawsuit states the defendants have also informed the daughters that they can no longer represent the plaintiffs' interests.

The plaintiffs allege Wright & Wright failed to exercise reasonable care, skill, and diligence in undertaking to perform legal services related to the administration and distribution of their father's trust and misled their client by informing them that it did not know what happened to specific assets missing from the trust.

Pamela Jones and Jill Jones seek trial by jury, general and special damages, costs of suit incurred, disgorgement of fees, and all other and relief the court deems just and proper. The Jones daughters are representing themselves.
