LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County film distribution business is suing media company, alleging breach of contract

Godigital Inc. filed a complaint Sept. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Western Division against ContentBridge Systems LLC, alleging that the defendant violated the agreed contract by not hiring third party vendors to do required work.

According to the complaint, ton Feb. 13, 2014, the two sides entered into a contract whereby ContentBridge agreed to provide encoding services on its films and deliver on-time and on-spec to media platforms such as Netfix, Hulu, Amazon and Itunes. However, matters changed in summer 2015, the suit says, as the defendant was unable to handle the volume of films and required a third party to do the task as also part of the contract.

As a result, Godigital hired third party vendors and paid $156,232.82 over a four-month period to finish the work despite their continued monthly payment of $17,900 to the defendant.

The plaintiff alleges ContentBridge failed and refused to engage and pay third party vendors to do the work and failed to perform its contractual obligations, even filling for an arbitration claim.

Godigital seeks trial by jury, judgment for vacation of the arbitration award, costs of court, attorney fees and all other relief the court deems just and proper. It is represented by attorneys Michael G. King and Anthony C. Kohrs of Hennelly & Grossfeld, LLC in Marina del Rey.
