Motorist accuses another driver of causing violent collision

Car accident 21

FRESNO — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging the defendant's negligence caused a crash that led to injuries.

Alejandro Caero filed a complaint Sept. 5 in Fresno County Superior Court against Victoria Rene Hernandez,  alleging she drove her vehicle above the speed limit on a public roadway, causing injuries and damages to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 3, 2015, Caero was driving southbound on State Road 41 approaching the Ashlan Avenue exit. The suit says Caero's vehicle was struck in the rear by Hernandez's vehicle, who was driving well above the speed limit at 65-70 mph, causing a collision.

As a result, Caero says he suffered physical injuries and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Hernandez failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to slow down his vehicle for the traffic conditions.

Caero seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of more than $25,000, costs of suit, and all fair, just and equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Ralph Avila of Fresno.
