Former employee accuses financial services firm of wrongful termination

Wrongful term 06

FRESNO — A branch manager is suing a financial services firm, alleging wrongful termination and retaliation.

Hector Sanchez filed a complaint Sept. 1 in Fresno County Superior Court against Homebridge Financial Services Inc. alleging violation of California Labor Code.

According to the complaint, on July 1, Sanchez was terminated from employment because he complained about Homebridge's failure to pay the wages due him. The suit says Sanchez started working for the defendant Feb. 8, 2016, and says he was not paid any of all the wages that were due to him. As a result, Sanchez says he has suffered physical, emotional and economic harm.

The plaintiff alleges Homebridge failed to pay the full amount of wages to an employee for the work performed and discharged an employee because of he complained about working conditions with regard to its unlawful activity to its wage and hour practices.

Sanchez seeks trial by jury, general, special and exemplary punitive damages for costs of suit, attorney fees, and all other the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorney Shelley G. Bryant of Bryant Whitten LLP in Fresno.
