FRESNO — A former employee is suing a Fresno County company, alleging disability discrimination, failure to reasonably accommodate and wrongful termination.

Adrianna Rendon-Burciaga filed a complaint Sept. 26 in Fresno County Superior Court against Alorica Inc. and Does 1-10, alleging discrimination..

According to the complaint, Rendon-Burciaga, who worked for Alorica as a customer service representative from March to July 2017, has suffered financial damages and severe emotional distress after the defendant's wrongful termination of her employment on the basis of her medical disability. The suit says Alorica retaliated after her request for reasonable accommodation to take time off from work to recover from a ligament tear in her hand.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants discriminated against her for having an actual disability, failed to reasonably accommodate her for time off work, and retaliated against Rendon-Burciaga for taking disability leave.

Rendon-Burciaga seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, costs of suit, and all relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Michael S. Cunningham of Cunningham Law APC in Temecula.
