LOS ANGELES — A disabled person is suing a Pasadena car repair business, alleging disability discrimination.

Robert Sanchez filed a complaint Oct. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against A-Car Auto Repair Services, Walnut Vista Automotive Industries Inc., Hrach A. Koulajian and Lina Koulajian, alleging they failed to provide full and safe equal access to its facilities.

According to the complaint, in June 2017, Sanchez was on defendants' property at 1160 E. Walnut St., Pasadena, for a routine business. The suit says he was caused difficulties and frustration as a result of the lack of sings for handicapped parking, no van access and neglect in the implementation of policy for the handicapped.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to make reasonable modifications in policies, practices or procedures, failed to remove architectural barriers and communication barriers, and failed to design and construct facilities that are readily accessible and usable by individuals with disabilities.

Sanchez seeks trial by jury, damages of at least $4,000 , injunctive relief, attorney fees, litigation expenses and costs of suit, plus all relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Douglas Borthwick of Santa Ana.
