FRESNO — An insurance company is suing a motorist, alleging failure to pay more than $29,000 in subrogation claims.

Financial Pacific Insurance Company filed a complaint Oct. 6 in Fresno County Superior Court against Scott Wayne Thorburn and Does 1 through 10, alleging the defendants failed to pay the subrogation rights needed for compensation under vehicular accident claims.

According to the complaint, Financial Pacific alleges it performed all responsibilities to its insured client for payment for damages in a vehicular accident Jan. 19 in Fresno, involving its client and the defendants. The plaintiff says it is entitled to recover rights in the sum of $29,147.52 with interest at the rate of 10 percent per annum that originally was demanded Feb. 21.

The plaintiff alleges Thorburn has failed and refuses to pay subrogated claims that are due and owing.

Financial Pacific Insurance seeks trial by jury, payment of $29,147.52, plus interest, costs of suit and all other relief the court deems just and proper. It is represented by attorneys Todd F. Haines, Shan H. Yamamoto and Brian Tapper of Law Offices of Todd F. Haines in Agoura Hills.
