Couple accuses health care providers of medical malpractice

Medical malpractice 02

FRESNO — A couple is suing health care providers, alleging medical malpractice and loss of consortium.

Stacy E. Greer and Samuel A. Greer filed a complaint Oct. 10, in the Fresno County Superior Court against Community Regional Medical Center, Community Medical Centers, Regents of the University of California et al., alleging they failed to exercise standard care and skill required of medical providers and facilities.

According to the complaint, in October 2016, Stacy Greer began to suffer physical pain, mental and emotional anguish, limitation of daily activities, loss in earnings and other damages due to the negligent manner of care and treatment provided by the defendants for Greer's cardiac myopathy.

The suit says Samuel Greer has suffered the loss of his wife's support, services, companionship, affection and consortium, as a result of the negligent manner of care and treatment provided by the defendants.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants were negligent in the instruction, evaluation, examination, diagnosis, care and treatment of Stacy Greer for her medical condition, and caused her to undergo further surgery, excess rehabilitation time and permanent damage.

The Greers seek trial by jury, general and special damages, costs of suit, interest and all further relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Jeffrey S. Mitchell of Mitchell Law Group in San Francisco.
