FRESNO — A patient is suing a dental practitioner, alleging negligence led to a jaw injury.
Raymond Sonora filed a complaint Oct. 5 in Fresno County Superior Court against Dr. Jason Sorensen and Does 1-25, alleging they failed to exercise standard care and skill required of medical providers.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 21, 2016, Sonora experienced unwarranted and extreme pain for an extended period of time due to a jaw injury and he endured emotional distress. The suit says Sonora's suffering resulted from the defendants' negligence in failing to render dental services in a manner consistent with the applicable standard of care.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to use proper due care by not diagnosing and/or informing Sonora of the broken jaw he incurred during an extraction, and misdiagnosed his extreme pain complaints during a telephone conversation without the proper examination.
Sonora seeks trial by jury, judgment for general damages, medical and other expenses, interest, and all further relief the court deems proper. He is represented by attorneys Steven S. Dias and Robin M. Hall of Wild, Carter & Tipton in Fresno.
