FRESNO — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence led to a crash that injured the plaintiff.
Marcos Rojas filed a complaint Nov. 27 in Fresno County Superior Court against Maria Luisa Corchado, Manuel Corchado, Christina Romero and Does 1-25, alleging they failed to exercise standard care and skill required in operating a vehicle.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 1, 2015, Rojas was lawfully traveling westbound on Morris Kyle Drive in Firebaugh. The suit says Rojas came to a complete stop at the stop sign, when he was rear-ended by Maria Luisa Corchado, who then attempted to flee the scene.
As a result of the defendants' actions, Rojas suffered injury, loss of wages, loss of use of property and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to follow at a safe distance behind Rojas' motor vehicle, failed to slow down or take any precautionary measures, and failed to timely apply the brakes.
Rojas seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of more than $25,000, costs of suit and all other fair and just relief. He is represented by attorney Amy Eskin of Levin Simes LLP in San Francisco.
