Fieldworkers blame farm operator, driver for crash, injuries

FRESNO — Three fieldworkers are suing a farm operator and driver, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiffs.

Guadalupe Salguero, Jose Antonio Escobar and Gerardo Castaneda Herrera filed a complaint Nov. 22 in Fresno County Superior Court against United AG Personnel Management Inc., Errotabere Ranches, Alexander Pacheco Mejia and Does 1-50,a lleging that they failed to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 24, 2015, Salguero, Escobar and Herrera suffered injuries to their physical health, strength, and activity when a truck driven by Mejia violently collided with another truck at the intersection of state Road 41 and Elkhorn Avenue. The suit says the plaintiffs continue to experience great physical, mental, and nervous pain and suffering.

The suit says the defendants negligently entrusted the truck to Mejia who does not have a proper license.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants authorized and required a driver with a suspended driver's license to operate a vehicle for purposes related to his employment, and failed to use the utmost care and diligence for safe carriage of the plaintiffs.

Salguero, Escobar and Herrera seek trial by jury, non-economic and special damages, interest and all further relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Martin V. Gasparian of Maison Law APLC in Glendale.
