Motorist blames taxi company for intersection crash

FRESNO — A Fresno County motorist is suing a taxi company, alleging negligent driving caused a crash.

Michael Davis filed a complaint Dec. 1 in Fresno County Superior Court against Scrip Taxi, Trechia Houser, Fresno Area Express, and the city of Fresno, alleging the defendants negligently entrusted, managed, maintained, drove and operated a vehicle so as to cause a collision with the plaintiff at a Fresno intersection.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 1, Davis was driving near the intersection of C Street and Ventura Street in Fresno when his vehicle as struck by Scrip Taxi/Fresno Area Express vehicle driven by Houser.  

As a result, Davis says, he sustained physical injuries, economic losses and emotional distress. 

The plaintiff alleges Houser failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to sound her horn to approaching vehicles.

Davis seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages in excess of $25,000, attorney fees, costs of suit and all other relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorney David Yadidi of Yadidi Law Firm PC in Encino.
