Beauty products manufacturer alleges customer breached contract

LOS ANGELES — A beauty products manufacturer is suing a Florida customer, alleging breach of contract, negligence, unfair competition and unjust enrichment.

Mazal Group LLC filed a complaint Jan. 3 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Michael Levy of Miami Beach and Does 1-10, alleging unfair business practices.

According to the complaint, Mazal Group has suffered monetary injury and damages to its business and reputation, and has lost income and/or property due to the defendants’ unlawful and unfair practices. The suit says Levy is in violation of Mazal Group's legally protected interests for selling the the plaintiff's products to re-sellers against a written agreement of May 1, 2017. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants retained and enjoyed benefits while violating the agreement to Mazal Group's detriment, and caused harm to the plaintiff's good relations with other licensees.

Mazal Group seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $75,000, liquidated damages, general and consequential damages, injunctive relief and all further relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney Nima Farboody of Mazal Group LLC in Chatsworth.
