Driver alleges another motorist's negligence caused crash

Car accident 28

FRESNO — A Fresno County woman is suing a vehicle owner and operator, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Adelyn Tan filed a complaint Dec. 22 in Fresno County Superior Court against Amarpreet Singh and Karanir Singh, and Does 1-10, alleging violation of the California Vehicle Code.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 25, 2017, Tan was driving her 2010 Honda CRV, intending to make a left hand turn onto southbound Willow Avenue. The suit says as she proceeded into the intersection to begin her lawful turn, her vehicle was struck by a vehicle owned by Karanir Singh and driven by Amarpreet Singh, causing both vehicles to spin out of control and come to rest on the sides and dirt areas of the roads.

As a result, Tan says, she suffered personal injuries, mental pain and incurred special damages for past and future medical and incidental expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Amarpreet Singh failed to stop for the stop sign and violently slammed into another vehicle and drove the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Tan seeks trial by jury, special and punitive damages, costs of suit, disbursements incurred, and all other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by attorneys Jason A. Helsel and Mark A. Vogt of Fowler | Helsel | Vogt in Fresno.
