SACRAMENTO — A credit customer is suing Citibank and others, alleging violation of the Federal Credit Reporting Act.
Glenn Aedo filed a complaint Jan. 22 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Equifax Inc., Universal CD CBNA, doing business as Citibank NA, and Does 1-100, alleging violation of state and federal law.
According to the complaint, Aedo has suffered diminished credit, damage to his reputation, embarrassment, humiliation and other mental and emotional distress, as a result of the inaccurate and incomplete information on his credit history.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants have failed to establish reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy in the preparation of Aedo's credit reports, failed to conduct an investigation and failed to correct the misleading and/or inaccurate statements on the plaintiff's account in a timely manner.
Aedo seeks trial by jury, preliminary and permanent injunctive relief, statutory and actual damages, punitive damages, attorney fees and costs of suit. He is represented by attorneys Scott J. Sagaria and Elliot W. Gale of Sagaria Law PC in Roseville.
