SACRAMENTO — A Shasta County woman has filed a class action lawsuit against the producers of rabbit feed, alleging false advertising and unfair competition.
Ashley Hale filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of other members of the general public similarly situated, Jan. 30 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Manna Pro Products LLC and Does 1-10, alleging they mislabled bags of rabbit feed.
According to the complaint, Hale and class members suffered damages from purchasing rabbit feed products, mislabled as containing no corn when, in fact, corn was in the feed. The suit says when rabbits eat corn they can develop toxic mold.
The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to provide corrective advertising, and benefited and profited from its false representations and concealment of material facts.
Hale seeks trial by jury, certify the case as a class action, injunctive and declaratory relief, restitution or actual damages, treble damages, punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs and all further relief the court deems just.
