Consumer claims Streamlight lantern handles do not have warning required by Proposition 65

SAN FRANCISCO – A man alleges a lantern handle seller failed to warn consumers of exposure to health hazards through its products.

Laurence Vinocur filed a complaint on March 6 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Streamlight Inc. alleging violation of a section of Proposition 65.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant failed to warn California consumers of the risks of exposure to lead and di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) from vinyl/PVC lantern handles manufactured, distributed and sold by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Streamlight Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a clear and reasonable warning to consumers of the exposure of lead and DEHP from the use of its products.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants in the amount of $2,500 per day for each violation, attorneys' fees, a recall of the defendant's products that do not have a warning as defined by California code, costs of suit and further relief as may be just. He is represented by Laralei Paras of The Chanler Group in Berkeley.
