Sream alleges Fresno shop is selling counterfeit smoker's products

Trademark 01

FRESNO – A Fresno smoke shop operator is alleged to have sold counterfeit products.

Sream Inc. filed a complaint on March 20 in the United States District Court Eastern District of California against Akbal Singh and Does 1-10 alleging trademark infringement, counterfeiting and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff does business as RooR USA and is the exclusive licensee of RooR marks in the country. It alleges the defendants sold counterfeit RooR products at their Cigarettes for Less retail smoke shop in Fresno.

The plaintiff holds Akbal Singh and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly passed off counterfeits as authorized products from RooR or plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, profits and statutory damages of up to $2 million per defendants, attorney’s fees, costs of suit, restitution, and further relief as the court may deem just. It is represented by Imran F. Vakil and Steven Baker of Nexio PC in Costa Mesa.
