Couple seeks damages from Tiger Lines, others over Highway 37 collision

Semi crash 02

SAN FRANCISCO – A couple has filed suit against the owners and operators of a tractor-trailer after a collision on Highway 37.

Javier Vera and Silvia Vera filed a complaint on March 13 in the Superior Court of the State of California against Tiger Lines LLC, William Lawrence King, LTS Rentals LLC and Does 1 through 100 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 23, Javier Vera was traveling in a generally eastbound direction on Highway 37 near Lakeville Road when he was struck by defendants' tractor-trailer. As a result, Javier Vera alleges he sustained serious physical injuries and his wife Silvia Vera alleges she lost the support, service, love and companionship of her husband.

The plaintiffs hold Tiger Lines LLC, William Lawrence King, LTS Rentals LLC and Does 1 through 100 responsible because the defendants allegedly carelessly and negligently drove, operated, maintained, owned, entrusted, leased, inspected, serviced and controlled the tractor with accompanying trailer so as to cause it strike and collide with another vehicle.

The plaintiffs seek judgment for general and special damages, prejudgment interest, costs of suit and for such other and further relief as the court may deem proper. They are represented by Michael A. Kelly and Conor M. Kelly of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger in San Francisco.
