LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County man alleges that he was not paid in a timely manner for his work on a television commercial.
Peter J. Yauri filed a complaint on behalf of himself and other similarly situated individuals on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kaleidoscope Productions, Lauren Becker and Does 1-10 citing California Labor Code and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by Kaleidoscope as a grip and driver for television commercial featuring Toyota products in July 2016. He alleges he was not paid for his work until the following month and during the production, was not permitted to break for required rest periods.
The plaintiff holds Kaleidoscope Productions, Becker and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay his wages in a timely fashion and deprived him of rest breaks.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants in an amount according to proof of at least $50,000, liquidated damages, reimbursement of costs, attorneys’ fees, costs of suit, and further relief as the court may order.
