SAN DIEGO – Two city of El Cajon employees allege that they are owed unpaid overtime compensation.
Mike Murphy and Joshua Pittsley filed a complaint on behalf of themselves and all other employees similarly situated on April 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against city of El Cajon and Does 1-10 citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they and other similarly situated employees worked hours in excess of 40 per week but were not compensated at the statutory rate of one-and-a-half their regular rate of pay.
The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants, payment of unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, and interest as the court may determine, attorney’s fees, costs and prejudgment interest, and further relief as the court may deem just. They are represented by Michael A. Conger of Law Offices of Michael A. Conger in Rancho Santa Fe.
