SAN FRANCISCO – Homeowners in Grass Valley allege their property was damaged by tree trimming performed at the direction of a utility company.

Rachel and Russ Woodward filed a complaint on April 2 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Pacific Gas & Electric Co., High County Forestry, Mountain F Enterprises Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging trespass, nuisance and concealment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs own a property in Grass Valley that was damaged in April 2015. The suit states Pacific Gas & Electric Co. employed High County Forestry and Mountain F Enterprises Inc. to trim trees near powerlines on the plaintiffs' property and that the defendants caused trees to "crash down with substantial force." The plaintiffs allege the defendants damaged their roof and concrete work and that their equipment damaged their driveway.

The plaintiffs hold Pacific Gas & Electric Co., High County Forestry, Mountain F Enterprises Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly exceeded the scope of permission of entry regarding the tree trimming.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against defendants for economic, non-economic, punitive and double damages, costs of suit, and further relief as the court may deem just. They are represented by Joshua H. Watson of Clayeo C. Arnold APC in Sacramento.
