LOS ANGELES – A Palmdale resident alleges a Chicago-headquartered debt collector ignored his request to stop calling him.

John C. Fuller filed a complaint on April 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Harris & Harris LTD over alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he began receiving calls from defendant in an attempt to collect a debt. The plaintiff claims he mailed a letter to the defendant on Dec. 1, 2017, requesting it to cease all further calls to his number but the defendant allegedly ignored his written request.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $1,000, actual damages, costs of litigation, attorneys' fees, punitive damages, and such other and further relief as may be just and proper. He is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
