Couple seeks damages from Uber over Richmond collision

SAN FRANCISCO – A couple alleges the husband was injured in a collision in Richmond involving an Uber driver.

Donnie Cerda and Sandra Cerda filed a complaint on April 23 in the Superior Court of California - County of San Francisco against Uber Technologies Inc., Rasier LLC, Rasier LLC, Rasier-CA LLC, Kalyan Baniya and Does 1 to 100 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 28, 2016, while operating his vehicle at San Pablo Avenue at its intersection with Roosevelt Avenue in Richmond, Donnie Cerda's vehicle was struck by the vehicle owned and operated by the defendants. He alleges he sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.

The plaintiffs hold Uber Technologies Inc., Rasier LLC, Rasier LLC, Rasier-CA LLC, Baniya and Does 1 to 100 responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently owned and operated their motor vehicle so as to cause it to collide with and strike another vehicle.

The plaintiffs seek more than $25,000 and compensatory damages according to proof. They are represented by William S. Ginsburg and William L. Berg of Berg Injury Lawyers in Modesto.
