LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles corporation alleges two of its textile designs were used without permission.
Jitrade Inc. filed a complaint on May 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Jollychic Inc., Haiyan Li and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff creates, purchases or obtains two-dimensional artworks for use on textiles tagged. It alleges it is the owner and author of "JIC-28” and “JIC-68.”
The plaintiff holds Jollychic Inc., Li and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendant allegedly created or developed derivative works from plaintiff’s copyrighted designs without consent from plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against all defendants, awarded all profits, attorneys’ fees, interest, costs of litigation, and equitable relief as the court deems proper. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Regina S. Zernay of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
