Strike 3 Holdings alleges AT&T U-verse subscriber has infringed adult films

Copyright 05

SAN DIEGO – An adult motion picture producer alleges an unknown AT&T U-verse subscriber has infringed several of its films.

Strike 3 Holdings LLC filed a complaint on May 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against John Doe, subscriber-assigned IP address 107.217.219.51, alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant distributed plaintiff’s copyrighted works using the BitTorrent protocol. The plaintiff alleges the defendant has infringed 35 of its movies and that it has traced the defendant's location to this court's district through the use of geolocation technology.

The plaintiff holds Doe responsible because the defendant allegedly violated plaintiff's exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, perform and display its copyrighted works.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, award statutory damages per infringed work, attorneys’ fees and costs and further relief that the court deems just. It is represented by Lincoln D. Bandlow of Fox Rothschild LLP in Los Angeles.
