Consumers allege chicken purchased at Vallarta Supermarkets caused food poisoning

FRESNO – Several individuals allege marinated chicken purchased at a Fresno supermarket made them ill.

Rosa Maria Casarez, Guillermo Diaz, Jesus Diaz and James Rontelli, et al. filed a complaint on May 9, in the Fresno County Superior Court against Vallarta Supermarkets and Does 1 to 20 alleging negligence and product liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 9, 2016, they purchased defendant's marinated, seasoned raw chicken and that the product caused them to sustain severe injuries and damages when they consumed the chicken and contracted food poisoning. 

The plaintiffs hold Vallarta Supermarkets and Does 1 to 20 responsible because the defendants allegedly were negligent and careless in the preparation and sale of the chicken.

The plaintiffs seek judgment for compensatory damages according to proof. They are represented by Edward B. Chatoian of Law Offices of Edward B. Chatoian in Fresno.
