FRESNO – A man is seeking damages after a firearm discharged and injured him at a Fresno property.

Jose Leal filed a complaint on May 14 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Sarbjot Mehrok, Jaspal Mehrok and Does 1-25 alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 25, 2017, he was on defendants' property when defendant Sarbjot Mehrok negligently operated a firearm so that it discharged and a bullet struck plaintiff, causing serious injuries, loss of wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Sarbjot Mehrok, Jaspal Mehrok and Does 1-25 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly and securely store firearm and failed to warn invitees of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants for compensatory damages according to proof. He is represented by Jason S. Bell of Baradat & Paboojian Inc. in Fresno.
