FRESNO – Two employees allege a water district did not compensate them at the appropriate rate for overtime work.

Imani Percoats and Chris Bettencourt filed a complaint on May 10 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Panoche Water District and Does 1 through 20 alleging failure to pay overtime, failure to provide accurate wage statements and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are employed as water canal men by the defendant and they allege they were not properly compensated and were paid less than similarly situated employees.

The plaintiffs holds Panoche Water District responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay them for hours that should have been calculated and compensate at a double time rate.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for damages, attorney's fees, costs of suit, prejudgment interest, and for such other and further relief as the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Arnold P. Peter and Eyal Farahan of Peter Law Group in Manhattan Beach.
