Driver involved in crash with USPS employee in Modesto seeks damages

SACRAMENTO – A Sonora resident is seeking damages after a collision in Modesto with a federal employee.

Darin Ford filed a complaint on June 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against United States Postal Service, Carolina Guillen and Does 1-10 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 21, 2016, he sustained personal injuries in a motor vehicle collision due to the negligence of defendant Guillen, a USPS employee, at the intersection of Benson Avenue and Oregon Drive in Modesto.

The plaintiff holds United States Postal Service, Guillen and Does 1-10 responsible because USPS breached its duty of care by entrusting a vehicle to an employee who caused a collision.

The plaintiff seeks damages, legal fees, costs and expenses and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Mark S. Nelson and Derek L. Casey of Law Offices of Mark S. Nelson in Modesto.
