SACRAMENTO – A Kern County couple alleges a recreational vehicle they purchased has defects.

Kevin H. Scott and Jacqie L. Scott filed a complaint on June 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Jayco Inc. and Does 1 to 20 over alleged violation of the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, Consumer Legal Remedies Act and Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 20, 2016, they purchased a new 2017 Jayco Seneca recreational vehicle, which came with a two-year, bumper-to-hitch warranty. They allege the vehicle has ongoing and recurring problems and that the defendant's dealer has failed or refused to remedy the issues.

The plaintiffs hold Jayco Inc. and Does 1 to 20 responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to commence service and repair within a reasonable time.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual damages, attorney fees, costs and expenses, order to abstain from any further acts and practices, and such other relief as the court deems proper. They are represented by Jon P. Jacobs and Rene J. Dupart of Law Offices of Jon Jacobs in Rocklin.
