LOS ANGELES – A City of Industry company is alleged to have failed to transport and deliver shipments of garments in the same good order and condition they were received.

Federal Insurance Co., as subrogee of Jaanuu Inc., filed a complaint on June 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Deckwell Sky (USA) Inc., doing business as Monarch Container Line, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the defendant accepted and agreed to transport by ocean carriage a shipment of several hundred cartons of garments from Vietnam to Los Angeles in 2017. The suit states at the time of delivery to the consignee, the shipments were damaged and that the plaintiff has been damaged.

The plaintiff holds Deckwell Sky (USA) Inc. doing business as Monarch Container Line responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to deliver the cargo in the same good order and condition to the destination as it was received and was negligent and careless in its handling of the cargo.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for the sustained damages, together with interests and costs, and such further relief as the court may deem just and proper. It is represented by Adam C. Brown of Hill Rivkins Brown & Associates in Fair Oaks.
