FRESNO – An adult woman has filed a suit against her Fresno County father over allegations of childhood sexual abuse.

Rachel Roe filed a complaint on July 31 in the Fresno County Superior Court against John Doe 1 and Does 1 through 25 alleging assault, false imprisonment, childhood sexual abuse and other counts.

According to the complaint, beginning approximately 1975 and continuing for a period of five to six years, defendant John Doe 1, her father, allegedly sexually abused her at their Fresno home. She alleges she was 5 at the time with the abuse began.

"Plaintiff did not discover that her psychological injuries experienced as an adult were caused by this childhood sexual abuse until fewer than three years prior to today's date," the suit states.

The plaintiff holds John Doe 1 and Does 1 through 25 responsible because the defendants allegedly engaged in unpermitted, harmful, offensive and unlawful sexual contact.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for general, special and exemplary damages; prejudgment interest; costs of suit; attorneys' fees; and for such other and further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Paul A. Matiasic and Hannah E. Mohr of The Matiasic Law Firm PC in San Francisco.
