FRESNO – A 24-hour skilled nursing facility in Fresno is alleged to have failed to provide proper care to a former resident.

Doran D. Clark, by and through his successor in interest Doran D. Clark, and Doran D. Clark filed a complaint on Aug. 13 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Fresno Skilled Nursing & Wellness Centre LLC, doing business as Healthcare Centre of Fresno, and Does 1-200 alleging elder abuse, wrongful death and violation of residents' rights.

According to the complaint, Donald R. Clark suffered physical harm, pain and mental suffering from aspiration pneumonia and multiple other infections which led to his untimely death on Jan. 5 while he was in the care of the defendants at their Fresno facility.

The plaintiffs hold Fresno Skilled Nursing & Wellness Centre LLC and Does 1-200 responsible because the defendants allegedly denied or withheld goods and services necessary to meet the basic needs of Donald R. Clark and neglected to provide care for his physical and mental needs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for general and special damages, attorney's fees, costs of suit, exemplary and punitive damages and further relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Steven C. Peck and Adam J. Peck of Peck Law Group APC in Van Nuys.
