LOS ANGELES – A Sausalito company is alleged to have unlawfully used a textile design in fabrics and/or garments.

Star Fabrics Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against 2bella Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, plaintiff is the copyright owner of a two-dimensional artwork used for textile printing titled "61499."

The plaintiff holds 2bella Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly distributed and/or sold fabrics and/or garments featuring a design which is substantially similar to plaintiff's work without its authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order enjoining defendants from infringing plaintiff’s copyrighted works, disgorgement of defendants profits gained through their alleged infringement, and award for attorneys’ fees, costs and such other legal and equitable relief. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger and Scott A. Burroughs of Doniger Burroughs in Venice.
