DeGroot Logistics alleges it is owed more than $40,000 from Quality Fresh Farms

FRESNO – A transportation broker alleges that a Fresno County farming operation failed to pay it in full for its services.

DeGroot Logistics Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Quality Fresh Farms Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 16, 2017, it entered into a written contract with Quality Fresh Farms to provide transportation broker services for defendants' agricultural products such as fruit and vegetables. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to pay for numerous invoices within 30 days and failed to pay the full balance.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for damages in the principal sum of $48,750, plus additional charges, costs of suit, attorney's fees and additional relief the court may deem just. It is represented by Timothy J. Buchanan of McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte & Carruth LLP in Fresno.
